Job Scope
Assistant Floor Manager supports the Floor Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the dining room floor, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining high service standards. With a focus on leadership, team management, and customer service, the Assistant Floor Manager assists in coordinating service activities, supervising front-of-house staff, and ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Floor Manager in managing front-of-house operations, including greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, and coordinating table assignments.
- Ensure that the dining room is properly set up, clean, and organized before each service period, including table settings, décor, and ambiance.
- Monitor guest flow, seating availability, and wait times to optimize table turnover and maximize guest satisfaction.
- Support the Floor Manager in ensuring that guests receive prompt, courteous, and personalized service from the moment they arrive until they depart.
- Address guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally, striving to exceed guest expectations and resolve any issues in a timely manner.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising front-of-house staff, including hosts/hostesses, servers, and bussers, to ensure that all team members are properly trained and motivated to deliver exceptional service.
- Provide support in ongoing coaching, support, and performance evaluations to staff to foster their growth and development.
Position Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or equivalent
- Previous experience in restaurant management or a similar role, preferably in a fine dining or upscale casual dining establishment.

- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and inspire staff to deliver exceptional service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, colleagues, and vendors.
