Job Scope

The bartender is responsible for providing great customer service in the Bar section, He/she works directly with customers to provide their desired drinks. verifies the age of customers, prepares and serves alcoholic/Non-alcoholic beverages.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

- Must be well conversant with the company's standard policies and procedures.
- Welcome customers, check with people to determine their beverage preferences, make recommendations, and take drink orders.
- Check identification to ensure customers are of the legal age to purchase alcohol.
- Focus on the guests and provide an exceptional guest experience.
- Select and mix ingredients, garnish glasses, and serve beverages to customers.
- Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
- Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensure bills are accurate return correct change to patrons, and balance the cash register.
- Handle objects; such as glasses and bottles in a safe manner to avoid any accidents.
- Be familiar with weekly events; promotions; etc.
- Help the manager to create beverage menus and inform customers about new beverages and specials.
- Uphold food health safety and sanitation principles.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings as required.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new ingredients, and cocktail techniques to enhance your mixology skills.
- Engage in conversation with customers, providing excellent customer service and creating a memorable experience.
- Monitor customer behavior and intervene if necessary to prevent overconsumption and maintain a safe environment.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior bartenders and barbacks when applicable.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with the customers.
- Note regular guests and remember their names and preferences.
- Maintain a professional and pleasant working relationship with all his superiors and peers at all times.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with the Quality, Health, Safety and Environment management system.
- Ensure personal grooming standards are followed and uniform is always presentable and as per company standards.

 

Position Requirements

Education

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification of customer services
- comprehensive food safety courses
 

Qualifications/Skills

- Knowledge of stocking a bar, types of beverages, recipes, building a customer base, managing unruly customers, and so on.
- Good knowledge of beverage mixing.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent beverage presentation skills.​​​
