Job Scope

The Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service by processing transactions accurately, handling cash, and ensuring a positive experience for patrons during the payment process.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

- Process customer orders and accurately handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and other forms of payment.
- Provide correct change and issue receipts promptly.
- Maintain a balanced cash drawer at all times.
- Operate the cash register and any related point-of-sale (POS) equipment.
- Enter orders and process payments accurately and efficiently.
- Close out transactions and reconcile sales at the end of shifts.
- Verify the accuracy of orders before processing payments.
- Adhere to all cash handling policies and procedures.
- Follow security measures to prevent theft or mishandling of cash.
- Report any discrepancies or suspicious activities to management.
- Resolve customer inquiries, concerns, or complaints in a professional and friendly manner.
- Stay informed about menu items, ingredients, and pricing.
- Keep the cashier area clean, organized, and free of clutter.
- Monitor and restock necessary supplies, such as receipt paper and change.
- Work collaboratively with serving staff, kitchen personnel, and management.
- Communicate effectively to ensure a seamless flow of operations.
- Support team members during busy periods or when additional assistance is needed.

 

Position Requirements

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or Accounting is preferable.
- Technical Diploma in Accounting
- Previous experience as a cashier, preferably in a restaurant or fast-food setting.
 

Qualifications/Skills

- Strong mathematical and cash handling skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-volume transactions.
- Basic knowledge of menu items and food allergens.​​​
