Job Scope
Head Hostess is responsible for overseeing the host/hostess team, managing the reservation system, and ensuring smooth operations at the restaurant's entrance. With a focus on hospitality, organization, and guest service, the Head Hostess plays a key role in creating a positive first impression for guests and facilitating an efficient dining experience.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly as they arrive, escort them to their tables, and provide assistance with seating arrangements as needed.
- Manage the reservation system, including taking reservations, updating availability, and confirming bookings with guests.
- Handle guest inquiries, requests, and special accommodations, such as dietary restrictions or special occasions, with professionalism and courtesy.
- Supervise and train host/hostess staff, providing guidance on greeting protocols, seating procedures, and guest service standards.
- Assign duties and responsibilities to host/hostess team members, ensuring that staffing levels are adequate to meet guest demand.
- Manage the restaurant's reservation system, inputting and updating guest information, preferences, and special requests accurately.
- Organize and maintain reservation records, guest lists, and seating charts, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy of information.
- Address guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, seeking solutions to ensure guest satisfaction and retention.
Position Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Hotel Management or an equivalent
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or in a similar guest service role, with demonstrated leadership abilities.
Qualifications/Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, colleagues, and management.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in reservation management software, point-of-sale systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, with a positive attitude and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
