Job Scope
The Head Waiter is responsible for achieving great customer service The primary responsibilities include overseeing the front-of-house operations, managing the waitstaff, and ensuring a positive dining experience for guests
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Coach and support the waitstaff, including runners and supporting staff.
- Assign duties and responsibilities to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Provide guidance to resolve any issues or challenges during service.
- Ensure excellent customer service by maintaining a professional and welcoming demeanor.
- Interact with guests to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
- Assist with special requests and accommodate customer needs.
- Oversee the order-taking process and ensure accurate communication with the kitchen.
- Monitor order fulfillment and address any discrepancies or delays.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely service.
- Encourage upselling of menu items and promotions.
- Ensure waitstaff has comprehensive knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.
- Maintain a clean and organized dining area.
- Collaborate with cleaning staff to ensure tables are promptly cleared and reset.
- Contribute to creating a pleasant dining ambiance.
Position Requirements
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in hospitality management
- Previous experience as a waiter or in a similar customer service role.
Qualifications/Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service procedures.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Ability to handle challenging situations with tact and professionalism.
