Job Scope

The Runner assists in delivering orders to guests promptly, maintaining communication between the kitchen and front-of-house staff, and supporting overall operations. The Runner plays a vital role in the restaurant by ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of food from the kitchen to the dining area with a focus on teamwork, attention to detail, and customer service.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

- Retrieve prepared food items from the kitchen and deliver them to the appropriate tables in the dining area promptly and accurately.
- Ensure that food orders are delivered to the correct table, matching items with the corresponding order tickets or table numbers.
- Assist servers in presenting dishes to guests, describing menu items, and ensuring excellent customer service.
- Monitor tables and assist with clearing dirty dishes, glassware, and utensils to maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the dining area.
- Attend to guests' needs and requests promptly, such as providing additional condiments, refilling water glasses, or accommodating special requests.
- Maintain open lines of communication with kitchen staff, servers, and management to ensure that food orders are prepared and delivered in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with servers to prioritize food delivery based on timing and table availability, ensuring that guests receive their orders promptly and simultaneously.
- Keep the dining area neat and organized as per the outlet’s standards to be ready for next guests.
 

Position Requirements

Education

- Technical diploma in Hospitality Management or an equivalent field.
- Proven experience in a similar position preferable at fine dining restaurants
 

Qualifications/Skills

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.​​​
