Job Scope
The Waiter is responsible for providing an exceptional dining experience to guests in an upscale restaurant setting. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent customer service, and a deep understanding of fine dining etiquette.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide impeccable and personalized service to guests in accordance with fine dining standards.
- Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and wine pairings.
- Offer recommendations and assist guests in making informed choices.
- Perform tableside preparations such as carving, flambé, or dessert presentations with precision and flair.
- Engage guests in interactive dining experiences while maintaining professionalism.
- Ensure tables are meticulously set with the appropriate silverware, glassware, and china.
- Pay attention to details such as folded napkins, polished flatware, and proper alignment of table items.
- Take orders with a high level of accuracy, paying attention to specific guest requests and dietary restrictions.
- Communicate orders promptly and efficiently to the kitchen, ensuring a smooth flow of service.
- Monitor the pacing of the dining experience, ensuring courses are served at the appropriate intervals.
- Coordinate with the kitchen to maintain a well-timed and orchestrated dining service.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, including appearance, grooming, and demeanor.
- Handle guest feedback and concerns with grace and address them to the satisfaction of the guest.
- Work closely with colleagues to maintain a harmonious and efficient working environment.
Position Requirements
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Hospitality Management or Customer Service Certificate
- Previous experience as a waiter in a fine dining or upscale restaurant.
Qualifications/Skills
- Extensive knowledge of fine dining service standards, menu items, and wine pairings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
