Role Purpose
Head of Safety and Wellbeing is responsible for overseeing the activity of third-party security providers on Sindalah Island and related off island facilities, liaising with the NEOM Public Safety department to ensure services are in line with NEOM Security and Safety standards and are seamlessly integrated. The Head of Safety and Wellbeing needs to monitor and audit service provision, to maintain a world-class visitor experience on Sindalah. Oversight is required on all public facilities (e.g. hotels, recreational facilities, etc.) and functions on and off the island (e.g. public water transport stations).
Key Accountabilities & Activities
Strategic Planning & People Management

Manage and audit the service provision of third party service providers for public assets on Sindalah, facilitating access and resources for Government Services

Identify and build a team of resources that supports the security function

Identify security guarding manpower requirements based on planned movements onto the island and between assets, subject to the type of activity taking place and the volume of guests.

Ensure that third party SLAs are met, following up on the KPIs mandated by NEOM Public Safety with regards to the service provision of safety and security services

Ensure that the Island Safety and Wellbeing department plans, and performance are within the approved budget and timescales through providing timely and accurate progress reports to the General Manager on the operational progress of the department.

Continuously monitor Sindalah public facilities and identify improvements points with regards to the safety and wellbeing of visitors.

Identify the annual workforce needs in coordination with the other department heads to enable the realization of departmental objectives; and properly plan for the optimal allocation of workforce resource.

Identify all equipment needed to operate and improve safety and wellbeing on the Island by liaising with other specialized NEOM departments/sectors and engage with procurement agency in identifying best in class equipment.

Guide the Island Safety and Wellbeing department’s employees in executing their respective responsibilities towards the achievement of the department’s and Sindalah’ s overall goals, ultimately creating a world-class experience for guests.

Help instill a culture of development, guidance, and performance within the team

Engage in workforce planning and provide recommendations for hiring, progressions, and promotions
Integrated Resort Operations

Conduct regular Safety and Wellbeing operations team meeting with all the HOD daily / weekly to discuss routine operational matters, incident reports, feedbacks and preventative actions

Share feedback/insights from the periodic meetings with the General Manager and other relevant NEOM departments (e.g. Public Safety)

Ensure SOP and SLA implementation in all assets and functions and check the same during routine operational checks

Collaborate with the Consultant/General Manager to obtain guidance on strategic/operational improvements in resort operations to deliver optimal safety, wellbeing and customer experience
Staff Accommodation & Managerial Apartments

Align with the service provider to ensure the required standard of security and employee safety is implemented and maintained in line with the NEOM’s safety and security standards.

Ensure that facilities meet government regulations, environmental, health and safety standards

Collaborate with the NEOM Projects team on building projects, renovations or refurbishments
Arrival and Departure Building

Implement the appropriate safety and wellbeing strategy and controls needed to manage both guest and staff across public arrival/departure facilities.

Manage resources (internal or external) in order to ensure optimal operations and maintain appropriate safety levels for visitors

Work with external agencies when required to deliver security procedures
On island Activities

Responsible for all safety and wellbeing on the island by ensuring full alignment with individual assets and their operations teams (hotels, clubs, FB and Retail outlets and supports services)

Coordination with Government / Neom Authority bodies who will provide integrated security related functions
Events

Design and implement a full safety and wellbeing strategy relative to the size of event and anticipated guest type.

Draft SOW and manage outsourcing engagement with third party security provider when and if needed, subject to the size of event

Lead all elements of the integrate solution buy conducting the appropriate level of briefings to ensure full alignment and delivery of a holistic events solution
